Movie Releases for the Week of July 17, 2011

I learned something new this week. Patrick Stewart has a film opening on Monday. I'll bet you didn't know that either. I haven't heard diddly about Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage. Yeah. That's right. A Sinbad movie. I tried to find more information about this film but the website says “Coming Soon” and the Facebook page hasn't been updated since June of 2010. The movie is opening in TOMORROW!!! This does not bode well.

In a strange coinkydink, Sir Patrick is making his first appearance at SDCC this weekend in support of an animated film called Dorothy of Oz. Maybe someone will ask him what the hell was he thinking when he signed on to a Sinbad film. I really hope the money was good. At least he got top billing. Strangely enough, if you watch the trailer, he's not in it.

In other news: A Little Help was originally scheduled to open in June but it didn't. The new release date (according to the IMDb) is July 22.
